aikido.jpg (39555 bytes)

Aikido is considered a hobby by some, but I consider it to be part of my life.I hope you will take a chance to look at my Aikido page, and follow the link there to the Aikido Shohei Juku Dojo webpage. This is a recent photo from a trip to Shohei Juku in Japan with my "brother-in-arms" Rob Liberti.

diving.jpg (38532 bytes)

I enjoy scuba diving a lot, and like to spend my time under the waves with a camera capturing the incredible beauty of the denizens of the deep. You can see a lot more underwater pics on my Undah da Sea page.

construction2.jpg (38594 bytes)

This is a picture of a deck that I built for my Mom at her house in Connecticut. Deck construction is not really a hobby, it is HARD work! But I  enjoy the many challenges of deck and small structure construction.

aquarium.jpg (37841 bytes)

ANOTHER underwater photograph! Enough already! Well, a big hobby of mine is keeping salt water reef aquariums. I have been involved in the hobby for many years, and have published several articles in:

Fresh Water and Marine Aquarium Magazine.

camping.jpg (42703 bytes)

Ahh, the great outdoors. I don't do a lot of camping, but I always enjoy it when I do. Above I am on a weekend trip to the  mountains  in Fukuoka Japan. Not many mountains in Florida, so I haven't done much camping!

horseriding.jpg (38341 bytes)

I have been riding horses ever since I was a little kid. I still love the feeling of a high speed gallop. The faster the better.. I actually got to do some riding in Japan, as pictured here. This horse was a retired race horse, and boy could he go!

rockinghorse.jpg (41857 bytes)

Along with small structure construction, I  enjoy woodworking. Have not had a lot of time to do much of it recently however. Pictured here is a rocking horse that I made for my  nephew Alex for Christmas.

jet.jpg (38848 bytes)

This was taken in Texas at and Air Force base during training. The jet is a T-37 twin engine sub-sonic jet called a "Dragonfly". Flying it was a blast. Even though I still have a current pilot's  license, I have not been flying for a long time.

paintball.jpg (40065 bytes)

One of my  new hobbies: Paintball. A great game, as long as you are not the one getting pulverized! Fortunately, due to a good team and some basic training, I was usually not on the  receiving end of the punishment.

sailing.jpg (35587 bytes)

I have done a lot of sailing, but have never owned my own boat. But whenever I get a chance, I rent out a sailboat and take it for a spin. This was a boat we rented in the Philippines. My plan is to get a Hobbie Catamaran after I move to  Hawaii.

mtnclimbing.jpg (28685 bytes)

Mountain climbing is pretty demanding, but with scenery like this, the hike to the top is well worth it. This is a shot of the mountain range near Iizuka Japan. I spent many a weekend hauling myself up this particular peak.

kitty.jpg (35621 bytes)

My dog Lumpy has a whole page to herself, so I thought I should put in a picture of my kitty "Sherpa". She got that name after racing up the 16 foot high curtains in my old apartment's livingroom.
