#10

Deerfield Beach, Florida

Deerfield.jpg (32118 bytes)

There are hundreds of miles of beached in Florida. Most of them are pretty nice. However, except for the Florida Keys, a beach is about all you get. It is hard to pick a #10, and I live here!

#9

Penang beach, Malaysia

Penang was rather hot when I was there in the spring and the water felt like a bath-tub.The water was also kind of murky. But the beach was nice if you could stay in the shade.
#8 Nha Trang beach, Viet Nam

Nha Trang beach is huge and forms a giant lens shape. This pic is only showing the far northern point. The hole town of Nha Tran is on the beach at 5am to play and swim (and wash!). It was a great place to listen to the waves at night due to the echo effect on the beach.
#7 Paradise Island beach, Bahamas

bahamas.jpg (36030 bytes)

Nice white sand beach with some old reef outcroppings. Much like the Florida Keys. A few interesting fish to be seen.
#6 Nusa Dua beach, Bali

Great beach for long walks. Many large hotels were built up near the beaches, you can climb on some of the rock outcroppings.. Beautiful scenery.
#5 Ko Samui beach, Thailand

kosamui.jpg (37212 bytes)

Ko Samui is an island off the coast of Thailand. The beaches here have the whitest sand I have ever seen. Nice shade trees line the beach, and it is not developed at all.
#4 Nishihama beach, Iki, Japan

iki.jpg (36595 bytes)

One of my favorite beaches. Great snorkeling to be had just off the beach along the rock outcroppings. Lots of interesting fish and a few invertebrates. The beach has a sand bar that is exposed at low tide, and is great for boogie boards.
#3 Bird Island beach, Saipan

Saipan.jpg (32754 bytes)

The beaches on Saipan are amazing. Not only do you have a great beach, but you can see corals, reef fish and even WWII tanks just off the shore!
#2 Unawatuna, Sri Lanka

srilanka.jpg (42183 bytes)

Sri Lanka is a tropical paradise, and the beaches are pristine. Lined with Coconut palms, full of Coral reefs, and far from civilization, the beaches of South Western Sri Lanka have it all.
AND THE #1 BEACH! Boracay beach, Philippines

Boracay.jpg (38880 bytes)

Hands down the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Millions of Coconut palms line the beaches, and coconut shells wash up on the beach by the thousands. Great for a late night fire on the beach. . There are no big hotels, only little bungalows. All-you-can-eat seafood buffet dinners on the beach at night for about a dollar. Coral reefs are just off the shore with an incredible variety of fish and corals. A very hard place to leave!
